Sliding Scale Available
We offer a patient sliding fee scale to people who otherwise cannot afford mental health services. Patients must meet financial and other specific criteria to be eligible. Sliding scale therapy refers to a flexible fee structure that moves, or slides, up and down for individual patients. Our therapists sometimes use a sliding scale to help people with fewer resources with a lower fee.
This fee flexibility helps make therapy more affordable for those who would otherwise have to forgo this resource due to financial considerations. We do not want financial difficulties to be a barrier that prevents people from seeking professional mental health services.
Affordable sliding-scale therapy is not a “sale” or a “discount” that changes over time. The amount you pay for affordable sliding-scale therapy is calculated by your income and number of dependents. A sliding scale structure can be used by those who don’t have insurance and pay for the entire cost of sessions out-of-pocket.
We may also utilize sliding scale by those who are seeing a therapist that is not in-network with their insurance provider. If you feel you can’t pay the fee price, you can present your income information and number of dependents to your therapist or our office staff, who will apply the scale to your situation and help take care of the paperwork to provide affordable counseling services for you and/or your family. It’s worth taking advantage of sliding-fee scale therapy and get matched with a provider that meets your needs.
