In-Network Provider for
Sometimes we go through seasons in life, or have a painful event, that can lead to cycles of unwanted behavior and difficulty in relationships. The root cause may be trauma, PTSD, family issues, or difficulty stemming from neurological changes. At the core, therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we can create space to learn new skills, honor your needs, rebuild safety, and regain control of your life. Using integrative methods, I encourage clients to gain self-insight, trust internal experience, and develop inner healing skills.
The forms of therapy we will use are meant to tune your awareness, broaden your problem-solving, and enhance your communication skills. These methods include Internal Family Systems, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Jungian Sandtray, and Somatic-based approaches.
I enjoy working with often under-served clients including the military, first responders, males, non-traditional couples, teens, individuals, high-functioning Neurodiverse, LGBTQ+ and allied.
Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience.
You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.
~Matt Haig
Services also known as modes or types of mental health care sessions can be given in a variety of formats, including:
Each stage of life creates different challenges to good mental health. Eating right, staying physically active, getting enough sleep, and having health relationship will help support good mental health & wellness throughout life.
An accurate diagnosis and an age-appropriate treatment program is crucial when one is suffering from mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or other mental health disorder. I offer services for:
Mental health crises range from the worries we all experience as part of everyday life to traumatic mental health crisis or serious long-term conditions. A mental health crisis is a difficult life situation where a person’s coping strategies do not work. People in crisis feel helpless and distressed, they feel like they are losing control over their life.
I am trained to help people experiencing a crisis and can teach skills and strategies to manage crisis situations more effectively. Some of my client concerns and mental health crisis and disorder specialties include:
Psychotherapy, also referred to as talk therapy, psycho-social therapy, counseling, or, simply, therapy, is the primary method for treating mental health problems by talking with a mental health provider. The goal is the help an individual better understand their mental health and teach strategies and tools that manage unhealthy thoughts and behaviors.
While there are many approaches to psychotherapy, there is no single approach that works for everyone. A therapist may use a blended approach, sampling techniques from several different types of psychotherapy. The kind of psychotherapy a person receives depends on his or her own unique needs.
Below are some of the types of psychotherapy I utilize.
Community can be defined in many ways, but when simplified down to its most important element, community is all about connection. Community is not just an entity or a group of people, it’s a feeling. It’s feeling connected to others, feeling accepted for who you are and feeling supported.
We’re social beings, and we are not meant to live in isolation. Community is critical for us to thrive, especially for someone with mental illness who is already experiencing the common symptoms of loneliness and isolation. Below are some of the communities I work with to help provide a sense of belonging, support, and purpose.
Morgan Health Centers and its Affiliates are outpatient centers and NOT an emergency care facility. In case of an emergency please contact a primary care physician or the local emergency room, police or 911.
Those with disabilities often face major barriers getting the health care services they need. Research shows that, compared to people with out disabilities, people with disabilities are less likely to receive comprehensive preventative care. Improving physical access to health care services is essential to achieving health equity.
We recognize the needs of patients with disabilities, and make every effort to comply with state and federal accessibility regulations and accommodate these patients.
